Goatskin or synthetic leather: which should I choose?

Choose goatskin for a leather line and synthetic leather for a lower price point. MDS Associates, a work-glove supplier, describes goatskin as "thin yet strong," soft and pliable from its natural oils, and highly resistant to abrasion. Ask for both in one quote and compare them side by side. Compare leathers in glove leather types.

Our TPR style adds guards on the back of the hand. Any impact claim on your packaging needs a test result, such as "P" in the EN 388 code. More TPR styles are on impact gloves.

Which EN 388 or ANSI code can my mechanic gloves carry?

Only the code a lab report for that exact model shows. Certificates are available on request, so ask which documents cover the style you plan to sell.

An EN 388 code reads abrasion, coupe cut, tear and puncture, then a TDM cut letter, plus an optional "P" for impact. US buyers should look for "ANSI/ISEA 105-2024" with a cut level from A1 to A9, never "ANSI certified." In the EU, the Commission's PPE guidance treats gloves designed to protect the hand as Category II by default, which means an EU type-examination by a notified body before CE marking.
