What are cookies?
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work the same way, and this policy covers them too.

Do you need my consent?
For analytics cookies, yes, where the law requires it. The UK regulator (ICO) says that under PECR a site must explain its cookies and get consent, by a clear positive action, before it stores a non-essential cookie. Storage that is strictly necessary for something you asked for, such as remembering your cookie choice, is exempt.

We do not use advertising cookies. The quote form is protected by a hidden spam field, not by a cookie.

How does consent work in the EEA, UK and Switzerland?
For visitors from these regions, analytics starts switched off until you choose.
- Google Analytics 4uses Google consent mode v2. Google lists four consent signals: ad_storage, analytics_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization. In these regions all four start as denied. If you click Accept, only analytics_storage changes to granted. The three advertising signals stay denied.
- Before you choose, Google Analytics may receive a cookieless signal that the page loaded, without the _ga cookies. Google uses this to estimate visits.
In other regions, analytics runs by default and the three advertising signals are always denied. You can still click Reject in the banner to turn analytics off.

How do I change my choice?
This opens the cookie banner again. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them does not stop the quote form from working.
